Skills Development Levies
At Phoenix SKILLS our main focus is to provide an excellent Service to our clients.
We assist companies to submit their Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training report
to the SETA that you are registered with, in order to claim back your mandatory grant
on the skills development levy (SDL) paid to SARS.
Provides you business with an External Skills Development Facilitator
Appoints a Training Committee in the case of 50 or more employees, as required by
the Act;
Develops, implements and submits a Workplace Skills Plan to the relevant SETA on
behalf of the employer;
Compiles and submits and Annual Training Report to the relevant SETA on behalf of
the employer;
Compiles and submits the "Discretionary Grant" (leaderships) to the relevant SETA
on behalf of the employer;
Act as medium for communicating information between the employer and the relevant
SETA;
Assist with the lodging of claims and refunding of levies;
Provides telephonic advice on any matter relating of Skills Development;
Prepare Employment Equity Report in the prescribed format;
Assist in reporting to the Department of Labour;
Drafting of an Employment Equity Plan for companies;
A variety of Training as attached.
Employers must be registered for SDL at SARS and payments must be up to date;
Employers must appoint a Skills Development Facilitator;
Employers must train their staff or have them trained;
Employers must complete and submit a Workplace Skills Plan an Annual Training Report.
The date will be specified by the relevant SETA;
